Remote Parental Responsibilities Evaluations

Dr. Andrew Loizeaux has 30 years of experience conducting parental responsibilities and child custody evaluations. In order to assess the best interests of children, Dr. Loizeaux uses multiple methods of data collection, while developing hypotheses and looking for convergent validation. Dr. Loizeaux gains a clear understanding of the issues, which he compiles in a comprehensive report with detailed recommendations. Evaluation services include Remote Parental Responsibilities Evaluations (RPRE), with specializations in supplemental evaluations, and interstate and international relocation matters.

Work Product Reviews

Dr. Andrew Loizeaux provides Work Product Reviews (WPRs) of reports from legal and mental health professionals, most frequently CFIs and PREs. Dr. Loizeaux’s work product reviews address professionals’ compliance with Court orders, conduct, methodology, and report writing. Work product review services may include verbal feedback, assistance in trial preparation, WPR report, and expert testimony.

Consultations & Standard of Care Reviews

Dr. Andrew Loizeaux provides expert consultation and testifying services in a variety of psychological and ethical areas. He provides consultations regarding research, psychological literature, ethics, and standards of care. Dr. Loizeaux reviews Child and Family Investigators (CFIs), Parental Responsibilities Evaluators (PREs), and other mental health professionals in light of standards of care. Consultation services include verbal feedback, assistance in trial preparation, literature reviews, Standard Of Care Reviews (SOCRs), and expert testimony.

Remote Substance Use Assessments

Kathryn Kilian, MA. LPC has over 20 years of experience conducting substance use assessments. Assessment services include independent substance use assessments, as well as assessments for parental responsibilities evaluators, child and family investigators, and attorneys.

Andrew Loizeaux received his doctoral degree from the University of Denver, School of Professional Psychology in 1991. He specializes in complex parental responsibilities evaluations (often involving relocation or conducting supplemental evaluations), work product reviews, ethical and standard of care assessments, attorney consultations, and expert testimony on professional issues. Since 1988, Dr. Loizeaux has performed over 400 parental responsibility/custody evaluations and over 60 work product reviews. He was a member of the Colorado Psychological Association’s Ethics and Professional Review Committee from 2004 through 2016, and served as Chair of the committee. Dr. Loizeaux evaluates other mental health professionals and their work and provides expert testimony for the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies and the Attorney General’s Office. He has testified as an expert witness throughout Colorado and has taught and presented to judicial, legal, and mental health professionals.

Kathryn Kilian

Kathryn Kilian received her Master’s degree in counseling psychology from Regis University in 2000, and has been in the field of addictions for over 25 years. She conducted mental health evaluations and parental risk assessments for attorneys, public defenders, and probation departments.  She provided therapeutic intervention for individuals recovering from divorce, managing stepparenting, and struggling with addiction.  She performed parental responsibilities evaluations, both as a lead evaluator and co-evaluator.  Since 2007, Kathryn Kilian has been working with Dr. Loizeaux.  She currently conducts independent substance use evaluations as stand-alone assessments, or as a component of parental responsibilities evaluations.
